David Stansfield has been an agronomy specialist advising golf clubs on course management since 1978. Over the years he has worked throughout the UK and Europe, dealing with sites in temperate, contenental and Mediterranean climates, and on occasion has ventured to the northeastern USA and to Canada.
With an honours degree in biology, a postgraduate qualification in the identification and treatment of plant diseases and a period of lab based research, it is inevitable he takes a scientific approach to dissecting problems and structuring a solution, something that is especially important in turfgrass management, a discipline in which there are many opinions and very few true facts
David's career in turf began at the Sports Turf Research Institute, where he was senior agronomist in the Golf Unit. He then moved on to be a director and senior agronomist at PSD Agronomy, before taking an entirely independant stance in 2001. He is a founder member of the Register of Independant Turgrass Agronomists .
